Full/Empty

This is my painting for Jean Townsend's zen challenge
for STALP this month. What could be more full and
empty than oneself? It looks just like me. :-) I had fun
and may have stumbled on a way to handle paint that feels
natural to me. Must continue to work at it, but possibly not
too hard.

So funny you are. I like this a lot. Very there and not there, exactly.

I knew it was you, even before I saw your name under the thumbnail! Really well done! Love the warm color on the right side of the face. Bold and yet soft.

Love the paint application Lorraine. The colours are also quite beautiful. Your comment was very funny! I love how adventurous and experimental you're being. I've been busy with life and haven't been painting as much, but hope to be back at it soon.

Thanks for your comment re the DPW Help Japan Challenge. A woman I work with is from Sendai and her family miraculously survived. I'm really happy to help by donating the painting and hope that it sells. Love what you're doing on your blog by the way!

Lorraine, I am so impressed with your blog and your beautiful work. I am anxious to read every post as your words highlight many of the same questions I have. I love what you do with edges and paint application among other things. I can't wait to see future work and learn from your endeavors. Thank you for your very kind words about my painting on the DPW Challenge site.
