Plums on Pink

It was fun to paint a 6 x 6 after these past few weeks of trying to
paint figures. Working on the figures has made me realize how little
I know about value in color. Or, whatever I know is intuitive but not
clear enough to articulate in my head while mixing colors. I tried to
limit the values in this one.

I love your loose brush work. The red peeking through is nice, too. This is really a nice little painting!

Wonderful. I really like the limited values. It makes for a more dynamic painting. Nice brushstrokes too.

Luscious! I think plums are difficult to paint because the skin is so smooth and generally dark that it's hard to delineate values. You have done a wonderful job with yours. Love the lighting.

Beautiful color and dramatic high contrast.

I've spent so much time doing large paintings, so I have just picked myself up four 8 x 8 canvases because I'd really like to start painting small, loose pieces in between my large ones. I find yours to be inspiring! Love it!
