TV Head 3

I'm finding it helpful to not worry about likeness because it
helps to forget I'm painting a head and remember that it's
really about painting planes, values and making color resonate.
And light, of course, but I haven't yet tackled that aspect with
any real focus. There's so much to learn.

These portraits are fabulous. I love your style with these and keeping your brushstrokes separate.

Great value and color! You're right, painting is just putting down dabs of color!

Another wonderful head!
I am following these with great interest as the Artist Guild I belong to is painting the head and figure for three months. I have shown everyone your work and we are loving following what you do.
I took a figure workshop early January and it has been fascinating trying to adapt my fracturing technique to the head. Frankenstein comes to mind!!!!

Your work is always fascinating, Lorraine. Your use of blue and orange in a wide range of values is amazing as are your intensity level varieties with those colors.
