Broken Poinsettia

I've had such a hard time painting after doing the last two tangerines.
I always seem to start out well, then somewhere along the way, I
find myself spelling everything out.  Tried to avoid that here but may
have gone overboard. I'm not sure anyone would know what this is
without the title.

I think this is fabulous and doesn't need any explanation.

I can tell what it is without the title and you are one of only a few people who could paint such gorgeous crab claws! ............ Just kidding, of course. It really is a nice painting. The blue glass is amazing and I really do like the poinsettia. Love the colors. I suggest you give your sweet mother more laundry and stay in the studio! :-)

Really beautiful. Wonderful reflective quality in the bottle and water, and the blue gray background is a beautiful color, too. I might have thought this was a lily, but that doesn't detract from the painting! Very nice!

It's no so important to guess what it is, it's art, and the color are very nice, especially the blue!
And Linda's humour is very refreshing!

I really like the colors in this. The different pinks and reds against the blue. Nice brushwork. Ditto to above comments. Keep on truckin.

This is gorgeous Lorraine. The subject is quite obvious. Your brushwork is so fantastic. I love edges. Some of the petals soft, some hard, some lost, it makes the painting breathe with life!

Thanks for visiting and commenting. I've been trying to respond but your comment window open. Finally this morning it opened for me. Keep those paintings coming, I find your style very inspiring!

Love, love, LOVE the jar. You have captured it perfectly! The others are correct... no need to know What it is, just admire it for how it is translated. I have my laundry in car. Do you think Mom would fold it for me?
