Tipping

Feeling a shift in the way I approach a painting now . . . no longer
concerned with details or outlines. It may be time to tackle some
larger canvases and see if I can carry what I've learned toward work
that's more concepted/intentional/realized? (I don't know). And, of
course, continue with small pieces as well, but possibly, see them from
a different perspective (which will also take a brain shift).

Happy Holidays everyone!

I would love to see your paintings in person! I like your loose, painterly style in this one and your colors. It's just so beautiful! I think you should work on a large painting and let us know how it works for you. :-)

Happy Holidays to you, too!!

J'aime ces petites touches de bleu clair ça et là parsemées parcimonieusement... comme des notes de musique suspendues, présentes pour faire danser vos poires... éclatantes de lumière.

Yea! Lovely and loose and full of light! I'm happy that you have kept on painting (and scraping) and that it is paying off! By all means, try a bigger canvas! Be b-b-b-brave!

I'm painting on a larger one now by an accident. I forgot to put my canvas in the car yesterday for my class. The only place in Boerne to rush to buy one is Walmart, and they have only two sizes--really small and really big! So I bought a big one and I'm going to try.

Really like these pears Lorraine. Like the way you left bits of red peek through.
Going larger is hard but fun. I am still searching for bigger brushes that I like. I use windsor newton monarch and they don't make very large ones. I have learned that is a key to going larger. Bigger brushes.
Good luck!

Love the colours and the brushwork Lorraine. Looking forward to seeing some larger pieces from you. I find more time working out the composition and larger brushes always make this transition easier, when switching from small to large. Happy Holidays!

Love that brushwork.
I think you'll find "big" to be wonderful. Just acquire some big brushes first!

What can I say that has not already been said? Love the brushwork here and that tiny spot you left the bare canvas showing through. I have so much envy, if only I can someday say"no longer concerned with details or outlines"
