Orange/Cup

























I've really enjoyed returning to these simple set-ups.
They don't seem quite as hard as they once did and
also easier now to portray light.

The glow of the orange reflecting on the mug is what painting is all about for me. As you know, Chagall said,
"all colors are friends of their neighbors...and lovers of their opposites."
This shows it so well.

Oh, yes, this is a stunner. The reflection rocks, but I also love the light/shadow dance and that strong touch of red at the bottom of the cup.

I also like the light on the lemons and shot glass below. :)
