Tulips

I had set these tulips up outdoors to photograph because I feared they'd
die under the lights if I tried to paint them from life. I also seem to judge
lighting conditions outdoors with a camera better than I can with lights
and a light-box.

Beautiful reds and greens. I love tulips and this still life is really beautiful.

Lovely composition. I really like the cropping. Great highlights on the tulips, and beautiful reflections on the pot.

You've captured the light well in this, Lorraine. Tulips have that satiny sheen that's sometimes difficult to convey in paint. You nailed it!!

Beautiful Tulips, Lorraine!! I really love how the light is hitting the flowers and vase....(The vase looks so realistic.!!) Excellent piece!
