In the Garden Sold

Another painting in the exhibit that opened last night at the Hunt Gallery.
Before leaving the house, the skies got very dark and rumbled with thunder.
Saw some impressive lightning strikes on the way but it rained so little
in my area. I thought the impending rain would keep people away and I
wasn't going to complain because Texas is desperate for rain. But it was
crowded when I arrived (on time) and stayed that way the entire two hours.
I met many terrific artists and art patrons but will have to go back to really
look at all the work when the gallery is empty. The exhibit is up until
October 22nd.

This is a stellar piece! The reds in the cloth set off the green apples so well. Beautiful brushwork! Hope you sell a lot.

Fabulous, Lorraine! I'm on my way this afternoon to see it! So sorry I didn't get to come last night and have a chance to talk to you about your paintings. I drew the short straw for babysitting.

Beautiful painting, very well done ! The cloth is so real and I love the dark background setting off the rest.
Wish you a nice weekend.

So much drama for a chair full of apples - very lovely!
Good luck with your exhibition.

OMG, Lorraine! Your paintings are fabulous! It made me want to come home and burn all mine! The pictures on your blog don't come close to showing the depth, the richness, the layers of colors in the paintings themselves. Even the gallery owner couldn't say enough good things about your work.

I am going to be so proud when you are famous to be able to say that I knew you when you were just starting out! You go girl!

I'm planing a trip in October and hope I can make it as far as San Antonio to the Hunt Gallery. A chair with apples, how perfect. I love it!

Oh, Lorraine,
This is masterful! There are so many areas that are completed so skillfully. The transitioning of the apples from light to shadow is fantastic! So many colors used and warm ones and cool. The reflected light from the cloth in the apples is amazing. I bet it is truly wonderous in person!!

Lorraine, this is a gorgeous piece. I remember when you posted it and didn't have a chance to comment then, but as I see it again I'm really struck by it. Very, very nice.
